Composting systems that could work at home or in the classroom


A Worms World: $200

  •  an enclosed wooden compost bin with worms (red wigglers), worm castings and organic material for the worms to eat as they adjust to their new home
  • certain pieces of the bin can be brought to the school, before construction, for the students to personalize the outer pieces
  • dimensions: 16”x24”x42”


 







The Whispering Pile:$150

  • an open air, aerobic compost system designed to illustrate the heating effects created by the mixture of carbon's and nitrogen’s with temperatures ranging from 130 - 150 degrees
  • comes with organic material (food scraps and mulch) to get the process going and the heat turned on
  • If interested in this system it is a good idea to have a pitch fork, or similar tool
  • a presentation can focus on aerobic composting
  • dimensions: 3’x3’x3’


 








Wiggle Room:$15 for 1 or $10 for two or more

  • a small bin with worms (red wigglers), worm castings, and organic material for the worms to eat as the adjust to their new home
